Factum Foundation is dedicated to the use of digital technology in the conservation of our cultural heritage and the projects it executes are fully or partially funded by it.
The projects displayed in this section are live and in most cases have been funded or are in the process of being. The number of potential projects is constantly growing and we are very anxious that we can execute as much as possible - for which we always need to have the necessary funding available. This can be given on a project or a general basis and for information concerning participation please email firstname.lastname@example.org or for a donation to the Foundation please go to the Giving page here.
In carrying out its mission, the Foundation works largely with Adam Lowe and the Factum Arte team of artists, technicians and conservators dedicated to digital mediation. Bespoke equipment, software and technologies have been designed to obtain optimum recording results in non-contact methodologies that have had a huge impact on the world of conservation and these have altered not only how facsimiles are considered by the museums and experienced by public, but have also helped to establish guidelines for conservation and documentation procedures. Over the past few years work has been done with The Musée du Louvre, The British Museum, The Pergamon, Museo del Prado, Bliblioteca Nacional in Madrid, the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, the Supreme Council of Antiquities as well as many other museums and institutions in Europe, Middle East, North Africa and USA.
